Historic Squares
Savannah has America’s largest historic district in the country which includes 23 romantic parks (squares) that are lovingly landscaped with azaleas and magnificent live oak trees draped with Spanish moss. Many of these enchanting parks have wrought iron gates, fountains or historic monuments. Each square is unique and has its own special appeal and charm. It has been said that the history of the squares is the history of Savannah. The squares make a lovely setting for a wedding, surrounded by Victorian homes and other historic buildings — a perfect background for wedding photos!
Forsyth Park and Fountain
Savannah’s Forsyth Park and Fountain is the epitome of Southern sophistication and style. Georgia’s “First City” defines Southern elegance and charm. The city of romance and grace, Savannah celebrates its beauty, with the famous Forsyth Park. At any time of year, you will find couples exchanging their vows with the fountain’s waters dancing behind them. The historic city park has been the inspiration for art, song and film for generations. The park offers many excellent settings for perfect wedding photos.
Davenport House Garden
The Davenport House Garden was created in 1976 by the Trustees Garden Club. Built in the traditional, formal English style it is surrounded by a brick privacy wall and beautiful wrought iron gates. The garden accommodates up to 100 guests, has a parking area and bride’s dressing room. Couples exchange their vows below a lovely archway of Confederate Jasmine. The Davenport House is the ideal location for an elegant garden wedding (available seven days a week after 4:30 p.m.).
Whitefield Chapel at Bethesda
The historic Whitefield Chapel at Bethesda is the perfect picture of the warm simple elegance of the Old South. The Whitefield Chapel is nearly 100 years old and still has the original stained glass, brick flooring and unpainted pews. The acoustics enhance any musician’s performance and will delight your guests with its magic. The chapel sits in the center of acres of history near the marshes of the Savannah low country. The setting is elegant, understated and beautiful.
Savannah Botanical Gardens
Savannah’s Botanical Gardens framed in roses, flowers and exotic plants is the ideal location for a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony. Established in 1997 this ten acre site holds an exquisite flower garden, a completely restored historic homesite, rose garden, pond, nature trail and more. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with exotic and native plants. The building has restrooms, dressing rooms, parking and reception space for 40. The gardens provide endless wedding photo opportunities.
Tybee Island Beach
The Tybee Island Beach is the ideal setting for couples looking for the perfect seaside coastal wedding ceremony. The beautiful sand, surf and dunes covered with sea-oats sets the ideal coastal atmosphere for your wedding. Tybee means “salt” to the Native Americans of the area, but the charming seaside resort now can be a fantastic, romantic getaway. This small barrier island boasts a wide 3 mile long beach, enormous pavilion on the beach, and amazing sunsets. The North Beach has the spectacular Tybee Island Lighthouse. Open to the public, it is one of the very few operational lighthouses remaining in the country.
Private Gazebo
We invite you to exchange your wedding vows in the beautiful setting of Savannah’s historic Beaulieu Plantation District. Our Southern gardens surrounding the wedding gazebo provide the perfect setting for your ceremony and photos. The Victorian Gazebo will accommodate the couple and up to 20 guests where you can experience your dream wedding or renewal of vows. The Gazebo is decorated to create the effect of a charming wedding chapel completely surrounded with plants and flowers. There is also an intimate private garden with fountain and wrought iron archway for couples wishing to elope. The site has many beautiful features that make excellent backdrops for your wedding photos: old brick walkways, grape arbor, oak trees draped in Spanish moss, a pond with small bridges and over 300 colorful azaleas!

An intimate private garden is also available for wedding ceremonies. This elopement package is intended for couples only and does not include any guests.
